Questions

What is an AI Pokémon card grader?

An AI Pokémon card grader estimates the grade a grading company would give a card, from photos. Buddy measures the centering, reads the corners, edges and surface, and applies each company’s published rules to give the odds of each grade.

How accurate is the grade estimate?

It’s an estimate built on each grader’s published standards. Buddy shows the odds of each grade rather than one number, names the part that sets the grade, and says when a photo couldn’t show something. Only the grading company can give a card its grade.

Can ChatGPT grade Pokémon cards?

A chatbot can describe a photo, but it doesn’t measure the borders against a grader’s centering table or apply that grader’s rules. Buddy uses AI to read corners, edges and surface; the grade comes from measurements and each company’s published standards.

Is it worth grading my Pokémon card?

It’s worth it when the price at the grade you’re likely to get, minus the fee and postage both ways, beats the raw price. Buddy works that out for PSA, CGC, SGC and TAG from recent sales.

How much does PSA grading cost?

With PSA’s Value tiers paused, its lowest open tier in October 2026 is Standard at $59.99 a card, before postage. Buddy shows each company’s all-in cost and turnaround next to what the card would clear.
